What is on the list

Thirty-six: bouquet, veil, cake, ring, a toast, something blue, confetti, the first dance, the bouquet toss, an oven glove, a tea towel, a casserole dish, tissue paper, a ribbon curl, happy tears. Half of it is the gift table and half is the day itself, which is what a shower game actually wants, the version played while presents are opened needs the wrapping paper and the gift tag on the card.

Playing it while the presents are opened

Nobody calls this one. Players cross a square off when the thing appears, which is why the list leans on what comes out of a parcel. Whoever gets a line first says so. The caller’s sheet at the back is the full list, which settles whether a candle counts.
